Allacrost's main design goals are:
Emulate the look and feel of the current generation of games while still being original. Create a free role-playing game, which can played by an amount of people as large as possible. This means that it must have low hardware requirements, support Linux, Windows and Mac OSX and be available in multiple languages. Focus on gameplay and story, not on graphic effects. Dispense with time-wasting gameplay elements (micromanagement) which other RPGs often contain. Be intellectually challenging.
